Happy Saturday. I slept in this morning, which happens to be one of my most favorite things to do. I took my time getting out of bed. With the weather being so cold and the furnace running what seems like non stop, my throat and skin feels dry so I thought I’d make a nice thick breakfast smoothie.

Making a fast filling smoothie is so easy with the Oster Smoothie Maker. You just have to add the liquids first and then layer the fruit and ice cubes and the smoothies come out perfect.

I always have cut up bananas and berries frozen year round, so I can whip up a smoothie on a whim. When a banana is ripe and not going to be eaten all you have to do is peel, slice and bag, then you have it on hand when you need it. I do the same thing with berries.

Breakfast Smoothie Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup plain greek yogurt
  • 1 banana, peeled, cut into chunks (mine were frozen prior)
  • 6 medium strawberries, cut into chunks (mine were frozen prior)
  • 1 cup skim milk or soy/almond milk
  • 1 scoop protein powder
  • 1 tablespoons honey
  • 1  ice-cube

Directions

  1. Add all ingredients to a blender and puree until smooth. Serve.
Did some boring housework and laundry, although I really wanted to read magazines and download new music to my GoGear so I could have some new tunes to listen to while I work out.
My cardio today was a 30 minute elliptical workout.  I alternated incline and resistance every 3 to 5 minutes, it ended up being a very sweaty and fast workout. Then I did the Lean Arm Pyramid Circuit, I am in love with this workout, it really is challenging.

Lean Arms Pyramid

  • 10 Push-ups (can be on knees!)
  • 20 Dips (on edge of chair or bench)
  • 30 Bicep Curls (light weights or water bottles)
  • 40 Seconds Plank on hands 50 Tone It Up Tummy Tucks!
  • 40 Seconds Plank on hands 30 Bicep Curls (light weights or water bottles)
  • 20 Dips (on edge of chair or bench) 10 Push-ups (can be on knees!)

Next thing you know 3 hours had passed and it was time for lunch, I had one thing on my mind a crunchy panini.

To make I used 2 slices of sourdough bread and I spread hummus on one of the slices, then layered on 8 thin slices of oven roasted turkey breast and a slice of deli cheese. I also had some roasted red pepper slices so I tossed them on too. I spray each slice of  bread with canola oil and grill on my panini maker for about 6 minutes. They were delicious with a side of kettle chips.

My husband and I watched the Paranormal 2 DVD I received from Netflix while eating lunch, it is a very scary movie, I saw the first movie and could not wait to see this one. Well it did not disappoint.

For a snack I had this;

Not sure why I’m wanting ice-cold food when its freezing out, but I went with it.

Dinner was too easy, it was all my leftovers. I was not too hungry but I like to eat every 3-4 hours and thought I’d eat what I could and Jeff would eat the rest.

Leftover tortellini with meatless meat ball, and a quarter slice of a quesadilla, I ended up eating it all, I guess I was hungry after all.

So to finish the night, I did a few more chores and made this yummy Saturday Sipper.

Saturday Sipper Ingredients

So easy to make:

3 Ounces of Diet Ocean Spray Juice Drink

3/4 Ounces of Vodka

Squeeze of Lime or Lemon

Lime or Lemon Garnish

Shake ingredients, except for garnish, until cold, in a cocktail shaker with ice. Strain into chilled glass, Garnish and sip away.

This Cosmo Saturday Sipper is only 50 calories!

Two movies in one day, now that’s what I’m talking about.
